Sir McChesney George Secondary School
I had the honour of designing a brand new logo and crest for Sir McChesney George Secondary School, a secondary school based on the island of Barbuda, part of Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean.
This project was incredibly close to my heart, as it gave me the opportunity to give back to my parents’ home country and support the local community through design. I wanted to create a visual identity that the students, staff, and wider community could feel proud of—something that represents both tradition and progress.
The crest has since been rolled out across various applications including student uniforms, teacher uniforms, basketball team shirts, the basketball court, signage, and more—becoming a proud and visible symbol of school spirit.
Each of the core colours in the crest was thoughtfully selected to reflect the school’s house system, inspired by the vibrant flora native to the island:
Pink – Cedar Flower
Yellow – Logwood Flower
Purple – Lignum Vitae
This project was not just about design—it was about cultural pride, community, and creating a lasting symbol for future generations.
